The 2nd China-Europe Scientists Forum
Background:
The China-Europe Scientists Forum was jointly initiated by over 30 scientists from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and other countries at the end of 2023, with the support of more than 60 research institutions and associations. The forum is dedicated to promoting academic exchange and cooperation between China and Europe, fostering talent and industry convergence, and supporting regional development and scientific innovation. The first forum was successfully held in October 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany, attracting over 200 experts and scholars who engaged in in-depth discussions on translational medicine, artificial intelligence, and computer science. The 2nd China-Europe Scientists Forum is scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 2, 2025, at the Bürgerhaus Heidelberg, Germany. Two new parallel forums will be added: one on ICT transformation, chaired by a Chief Scientist from Huawei Europe, and another on control engineering, chaired by Prof. Hamid Reza Karimi, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences. The total number of offline parallel forums will reach six, with two additional online forums, and one Beijing salon , making it the largest technology cooperation platform led by the Chinese diaspora in Europe.

At 14:00 on Nov. 2, we will go to the castle ruins on the hillside of Heidelberg, wander in the Renaissance-style courtyard, and overlook the panoramic view of Heidelberg on both sides of the Neckar River from the terrace. After going down the mountain, we will visit Heidelberg University and the “Student Prison” on the main street, visit the Church of the Holy Spirit on the market square, and go to the Old Bridge to find the statue of Elector Karl Theodor, who had more than 200 illegitimate children. At the same time, don’t forget to touch the brass monkey that can bring wealth. At the end of the bridge is the Goldener Hecht Hotel that once refused to let Goethe stay.
